Who art in heaven
Hollow are our prayers
We carelessly say
Your name in vain.
The kingdom for
Which we pray
Often seems to be
Our own
Our will being done
Is our blatant request
Not Heaven’s behest
You give us our
Bread daily
We would rather
Our cake too
We want your forgiveness
For our trespasses
Ahead of those by whom
We are hurt.
We wish we knew
Your Kingdom’s Power
And Glory as we stumble
After our own
Please wake us up
As we sleep through
Your holy prayer.
May we see how far
We have fallen
Being readied for
Your judgement which
Indeed will come. AMEN
